Hi all

Im new here, Im a 36 year old mum of 2 that works part time, and needs to work about 15-20 hours a week to maintain family income,

I have a very supportive hubby but he has a busy job too, In feb 2017 both kids will be at full time school, until then I have 1 at full time school and 1 in kindy

So Im looking at Enrolled nursing at Silverchain 1.5 days a week and about 20 hours a week home work, for 18 months, or apply for Uni for RN part time 6 years...ekkk I was leaning towards EN as its quicker but will I be happy with that outcome, and then want to keep studying, the uni suggested 2 units a week so about 6 hours on campus then rest study at home...

Im not even 100% what field I want to work in, I know I love midwifery, Palliative, and would love to work with sick kids, is it all too much, how hard is it, I have a Diploma in Health and Fitness from years ago and a few other Cert III

I would LOVE and appreciate any feedback, I have been in sales and marketing for 20 years and done and dusted with sales, a new career for the next 30 years of my working life would be amazing!!

Thank you all

Hi Hopetobe,

I'm in a similar situation with my youngest going to school next year. I've applied to RMIT and am trying to decide if I should apply elsewhere as a backup. :)

Hello,

I am also applying for nursing next year with 2 young boys in care 3 days. I am very keen to study midwifery, but not sure how i can until both my boys are in school. my eldest starts school in 2018 so i could put my younger son into full time care then. Does anyone have any ideas about the hours of prac at western sydney uni and uts? So far i have see it is 16hrs full time study plus blocks of full time practical at the end of each semester.

Thanks for the conversation
