Hi everyone (:

I'm considering enrolling in the diploma of nursing through TAFE and have a few questions.

Firstly, what procedures and clinical skills are enrolled nurses trained in and authorised to perform? Also, how are the various components assessed and how heavy is the assessment workload? Do you have to submit assignments and/or take exams regularly, and, if so, what form do they take?

Sorry if I sound grabby with all these questions. I'm currently studying pharmacy, and thinking of training for enrolled nursing as well. Would it be beneficial to postpone my pharmacy degree to complete the diploma, in the hope that I could do casual or part time work during the final years of the degree? How feasible is it to find a couple of casual shifts each week?

Thank you to anyone who took the time to read and consider my questions.
