Hi Dani,
I know a site which hosts text, http://freetexthost.com/
its really simple, just copy and paste into the box, click 'host my text'
and then share the created link around :)

If you prefer emailing, could you please send me a copy to monica.fb@live.com.au ?

Thank you so much!!

this is a good site to learn what maths are needed in nursing. I think if you can grasp these then you should breeze thru and numeracy test

The test isnt really that hard I think you just have to remember if you dont know something then move onto the next question coz time goes fast. Its suppose to me year 10 average things, I did a prep course before hand because other than nursing calulations 8 years before I hadnt done math without a calulator since year 7 :( But I did rather well

I did the vetassess test about a month ago, its just like an aptitude test so you need to know basic-inntermediate knowledge. If I were you I would study and maybe do some practice test online I would say year 11-12 level.

The first section of the test is Literacy and has questions about spelling, which is the odd word out and things like that... it was a bit tricky cause some words were a bit confusing..

Numeracy was the second section and you only have 30 mins to answer 40 questions. At 15 questions in they called 5 mins to go so i obviously freaked out and rushed through the last half and at "pens down" I had about 8 questions unanswered so just filled in any answers... ALL the people sitting around me in the test were in the same boat and after the test I didnt hear anyone actually finish it in the required time so DONT spend more than 30 seconds on a question just move on to the ones you CAN answer.

The last section is writing shorts answers and essays so just write what you think really- you dont need to study, maybe just review short essay tips.

I left the test a bit worried about most of it, I thought id only JUST pass or I would fail so I wasnt very hopeful but the marks I got were:

Literacy 35 out of 40

Numeracy 31 out of 40

English writing skills 14 out of 20

all you need is 50% to pass each section

hope this has helped and goodluck!

PS- there is a book with good questions (not nurse related though) called "preparing for career selection tests. Numeracy and general ability. (author Vera Joosten). It is a good guide to aptitude test

Hi guys,

I'm taking the VETASSESS test on the 21st of January for Enrolled Nursing. My aim is to be a Midwife at the end of all my studying. Does anyone have any helpful things that they could possibly email me to help me with what I should study and be aware of? I tried this site but it needs a username and password which I don't have with that site and I can't even sign up for some strange reason:

http://www.csu.edu.au/division/studserv/my-studies/maths/maths/nursing?SQ_ACTION=login&

Can anyone please please help me. This is my dream job and I need to get through this test to be considered.

My email address is: Natalie.celano@gmail.com

Thanx :)

I attended the test last week. In numeracy part: 40 Qs as

addition,

 subtraction,

multiplication

and division from class 4/5

and 10 Qs as conversion, gram to kilogram or millilitre to litre.

Literacy test had an essay out of 3 options and one very basic comprehension.

Hi TommyB

I sat my enrolled nurse numeracy and literacy test a couple of years ago, graduating in 2011.  I am now in my final semester at uni for Bachelor of Nursing.

I use this site all the time to practice my medications (both at tafe, and now uni), as it is something you will HAVE to know for your entire career as a nurse, either EN or RN.  I hope you find it helpful.

http://nursing.flinders.edu.au/students/studyaids/drugcalculations/page.php?id=1

I know it may seem a little daunting at first, however with practice you will eventually get the hang of it.  I suggest writing down all the formulas, and having them next to you while you are doing your calculations.  Also, try to do the tests without using a calculator.  I know when I did my EN medication exams, we were not allowed to use a calculator and had to achieve 100%, so I would aim high to begin with!

Good luck.  If there is anything else I can help with, let me know!:-)
