I've just been accepted into bachelor of nursing. I'm 33 years old. When I was 17 I received a convicyed without record for assault against police in Victoria  (yes I know disgusting and I'm extremely ashamed) and when I was 18 I was found guilty of possession of under 3 grams of marijuana In qld. I then got my act together and have an exemplary record since then. Although these are spent convictions I know they show up for health related checks I'm very worried it will either prevent me from doing the course or getting aphra registration or if I do then it will prevent me from getting a job?!

Were you imprisoned? If so for how long? From what I know you're only required to report sentences of 12 months of prison or more - meaning although your past might show up on your background check, maybe if they were short sentences it's not counted against you.  Also, the fact that it's more than 10 years ago should help. I've read that if you were 18 or younger when committing the crime, they place less weight on the offence, all good news for you.  Good luck!
