Hi

I graduated as a RN in 2015 in Tasmania and have had no luck whatsoever in gaining any employment as a RN. I have applied for every nursing home, doctors surgery, hospital near my home and nothing.

I managed to gain a drug and alcohol support worker position last year which lasted 7 months before I left due to no career progression and it was emotionally difficult.

I decided to give up on nursing as it was getting harder to complete my CPD for my registration as Im not working in the health sector so I don't know when standards change and etc...

Also my knowledge and skills are becoming outdated as its really hard to continue learning and revising nursing knowledge, There are no facilities here that offer nursing revision courses.

Now.. I have been told by numerous people to not give up but I don't know what to do. My CPD is coming up and I have done nothing, last year I rushed my CPD just to keep my registration because people told me to not give it up.

Do I keep my RN dreams alive and try or just give up?

Just need to talk to people that have some idea what Im going through:(
