Hello everyone,

I am a first year nursing student looking for work in NSW. I know that I have to wait until 2nd year before I can work as an AIN, but can I work as a PCA in my first year? Or do the two require the same qualifications?

I have some experience in aged care as I started a Cert 3 in aged care and did 120 hours placement, but then decided to study a bachelor of nursing before I finished the Cert 3.

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated!

There is no mandatory qualification for employment as a PCA, so there is nothing that would prevent you from applying for a position.
