An Avatar is the image that sits below your name on the forum posts.
They are used to reflect a little about yourself, or something you feel passionately about, or something that amuses you - such as mine.
When you find an avatar you like:
- save it onto your computer (on the Desktop is easiest to relocate)
- Edit your NurseCentral Profile (click on [edit] in the mini-panel above)
- Under the section "Forum Avatar" - click on the browse button and locate the image file you saved earlier
- Enter any text you want to show when someone "mouseovers" your Avatar in the field "Alternative Image Text"
- Click "Store" at the bottom of the page.
All done - Your avatar should now be appearing in the forums.
While you are in the edit area, check your details and perhaps add a signature line and a biography if you haven't already got one.
You can find a little bit about another member by clicking on their name and viewing their details that they have chosen to let you see.
Let me know if these instructions aren't clear enough.
I'll be on the lookout for some great avatars on this forum - here are some links to get you started, otherwise just do an internet search for "free avatars" or upload any image you particularly like, it doesn't have to be an avatar, it could even be a photo of yourself. Needless to say, any offensive avatars will be removed.
Have some fun and change your avatar as often as you get bored with the old one.
