i am studying nursing, currently on my 2nd year, and I'm on the verge of deferring from the course because it's too overwhelming for me especially in placement. it's overwhelming because i can't handle the shift work and too much information overload. i've just passed all my subjects last semester and i feel like I'm the only one who's not enjoying placements and looking forward to future placements. i've been trying to endure these feelings since last year, thinking that this feeling would pass. but no.

But this doesn't mean I'm not interested in working in the healthcare industry. i love helping people but nursing is just a slap in my face. I'm thinking about deferring from this course and do a cert 3 in pathology and finding a part time or full time job from this.

is anyone completed this course and what are the chances of finding a job like in collection centres and hospitals etc? any recommendations and advice?

what's the best area to study this course?

I strongly recommend you go part time and not defer. Try and work in a nursing home as a PCA.

I've known a few people that have completed the pathology course and they couldn't find work.
