i'm a registerd nurse overseas & wishes to go back to nursing career,i've been out of the profession for several years now. . i was thinking of doing the bachelor in nursing and consider enrolled nursing too. i am a permanent resident from melbourne & my citizenship is on the process. i was able to pass the oet in 2005 but it expired & was about to do my 3 months pre registration for overseas nurses (which is good) but since i'm considered international student that time, i have to pay the whole tuition fee amount which is 8,000aud. i don't have that large amount of money then & not qualified for the study loan scheme. when i got my PR, i tried to take the test again ( since i can be eligible for the study loan) but unfortunately, the problem is i can't pass my english for several attempts now. so currently, i'm thinking of some options and these are doing the bachelor of nursing or the enrolled nursing.. which do you think is better for my case? the one that will not take too long to study or any other suggestions you could advice in order to go back to nursing? and also where can i find the schools or hospitals that suits for these courses? thank you..i'm in my middle 30s now & i don't want to waste my time doing nothing & just be a housewife for the rest of my life.i've worked as a PCA before but i still have my dreams...and to be a registered nurse is one of those. tnx again!

Hi, I am also an RN from overseas and am going to take the OET next sitting. I would like to know what is this "pre-registeration" for overseas nurses that you are talking about? Who do you undertake this with? Also, as a foreign RN why do you want to do an enrolled nursing course? And since you passed the OET before, why is it difficult for you now, especially since you have been here for the past 6 years. What has changed? I am interested because if there are some fundamental issues with this exam then I need to plan a different course of action and not waste money on it. I did not get 7 in the IELTS...which I consider to be a business and not an English exam. I live in Brisbane and I am originally from French Canada. Thanks.
