Iscious is a much more alluring name :P Seems we are having trouble with the offsets as the thread goes over the page. Bear with us and we should have it fixed shortly.

Great to see an aussie site where nurses and midwives can chat as well as gain info. Well done Darren!!! Hopefully the article in Augusts ANJ will attract more members as it did for me!!!I will be letting all my workmates know about the site.

Hi Darren, this is just awesome and very professionally presented. I found out about it from the recent ANJ. I'm on another couple of craft forums so it was easy to sign up and start (I do remember how anxious I was when I started though so a few might just watch for a while before joining in). I'm really looking forward to seeing the site develop and nurses speaking out. BTW - I've got a Darren, but he doesn't look too much like your avatar... I'm off to search for 'that special' avatar... but there's too many to choose from. Keep up the good work.

Well done Darren! I read about this site today in my copy of ANJ and just had to have a look. It's fantastic to have an Australian forum at last as I'm a member of a couple of UK forums and an American one, so I'm really pleased to have found an Australian one as nursing can be very different around the world.

What a great site!. I am really enjoying this, because it is Australian and for Australian Nurses. It is especially relevant for rural and remote nurses who sometimes find it quite difficult to network with other nurses.Good on uou and keep up all the great work.

Hi Darren,I realise that I maybe a little slow in responding but I have just logged onto this site today and am so excited to have found it. I am a sole practitioner in Central Qld and so often feel isolated from the rest of the nursing world. Really, noone understands nurses like nurses so my partner will be estatic now that our dinner converstations can return to normal. Thanks.

Hi Sass, I agree, it has been a bit quiet lately. I guess for any site like this, it will only be as active as the members are willing to make it. I think there is also a bit of a learning curve as I imagine a good number of visitors and members havent been part of many forum sites before. I will post a new blog shortly with a new initiative that will hopefully gather a bit more momentum. Ultimately, it is about having enough active members to keep the forums active. A catch-22 for me there is that advertising is expensive and I dont have a great deal of revenue coming through yet. So I am looking at other opportunities for promoting NC around the place and of course the support of members in that endeavour is greatly appreciated. I am always open to good ideas and suggestions, so fire them through if any occur to you.

Hi Darren, Perhaps if you'd like to do a BW A4 poster we can download and pin up? Maybe members can get on their work PCs and make sure it's in the "favorites" too ! matthew

Mattycat, there is a flyer available for download from the site, at Perhaps I need to make more obvious reference to it on the front page. It is in colour, but it does also print out quite well in B&W if that is all you have available. I am also happy to post some out if you want multiple copies to put up around your hospital. Just send me an email to darren [at] nursecentral [dot] com [dot] au or use the Contact Us form with the address.

I have been hunting for a site like this for ages Darren. The only other one I have found is an American site, and there are too many differences between the two systems, legally, politically and even at times in general nursing practice. I'm going to pass on the good word...
