Hi

I noticed this course is available online/ off campus from Gold Coast tafe or Kangan tafe and it looks really good. Being able to specialise in an area of interest as an EEN is exciting : )

Anyone out there who has done it/ is doing it?

Thanks

Hi
I am currently doing the Advanced Diploma of Nursing in Critical Care.It is a great course.I am doing it via distance education. At the Gold Coast Institute of Tafe. And I also work in the Cardiac Cath Lab..In the Lab we can cannulate as EEN.I had to complete a course at work and go with into theatre with Anethisetics for several sessions to be deemed compete before then cannulating. We at the moment can only do this in the LAB not the wards yet. So EEN is finally advancing after 24 years working yeh!

Be nice to me, I may be your nurse one day. Remember - needles and catheters come in sizes that I get to choose!

I am a EEN grad working at a large private hospital. I have upgraded my cert IV- diploma through Kangan Tafe and was able to choose all advanced diploma subjects - It is fantastic being able to learn subjects that interest you, I highly recommend it!!

Hi there

I have considered enrolling in the advanced diploma via distance ed through gold coast tafe, will also investigate the other institutions mentioned offering this. was wondering if anyone who has done this or is doing this course - how many times do you have to attend the tafe in person and is there a practical component to the course, and if so how many weeks and what shifts. I live on brisbanes north side so would have to consider this if this was necessay.  would appreciate the feedback. Margie

I have enrolled in the advanced diploma online at Gold Coast, starting next month. I am specialising in community as I already work in aged care, I thought this was going to upgrade my skills. I can not wait to start and I am so excited we can go I even further as an EEN. I don't want to become an RN, I love working as an EEN. I am hoping there will be even more courses we can do in the future.
