Hi, I finished my Diploma of Nursing at MSIT in July this year, currently working as an EN in Aged Care and have just enrolled at Uni to do Bachelor of Nursing in Feb 2012. Is there anyone out there in a similar situation, or did this in the past. I would like as much info as possible, without getting freaked out about it all. I have to remind myself everyday that I can do this! I am a mature age student (43). Deb

Hi Debb,
I havent been in your situation, Im doing my Diploma of nursing next year. However when I left highschool 10 years ago I started Nursing at uni and there was alot of EN's there at the time, and they did pretty well as they had more knowledge base of nursing from working in the field than those who just left school. I know some uni's take off 12mths where other only take off 6mths. When I enquired as when I finished my diploma I am going to go do my RN's the teacher said that the success rate is alot higher because of peviously studying EN's and working, they find alot of people do the EN's then RN's. I know when I went for my interview there was about 4 people that had dropped out of uni coz it was too hard, and decided to give EN's a go. So I am sure with your working experience and having done your diploma you will be fine, dont freak out just take it in your stride.
All the best
Dani x
