Hello all :)

I have been looking at studying Diploma of Nursing (EN / Division 2 ) for 2 years, i have been an AIN for nearly 4 years . I have no family support, and also have to work , The course i have looked into is 2 half days a week, i will also be working 3 days a week .

What should i expect ? Is the Diploma of Nursing an intense course ? How many hours of study a week -online and face to face ? Would TAFE or other Nursing Agencies extend this course if needed ? What are the clinical blocks ? and  How much are the text books ?

Nurses who have completed this course or still studying, are in a similar or same situation as myself ,  any information or tips for online or face to face study this would be very much valued and appreciated.

Thanks so much in advance :)

I currently completing the Diploma in Nursing. My course is 3 days on campus but depending on the units I am working on I find myself studying anywhere up to an additional 2 days a week. This is considered full time, there are students in some of my units studying parttime which is 2 days on campus which initially doesnt sound like much of a difference but the way there timetable is structured they only need to study for 1unit verses 3 to 5 units in their off campus study. I prefer face to face education because I think you develop more contacts and you can participate in study groups that you may otherwise miss out on.
