I am thinkig of starting the EEN course at tafe. I was wondering if it is possible to do some AIN work in a nursing home until you graduate. I don't have Cert III, but is studying nursing enough??

Hi there , I dont think u can work as a PCA or AIN until you have cert 3. I start my EEN course next month and tried to find work in an aged care facility for some expirience but all required cert 3 which i dont have.

You might get a job as a kitchenhand or something but not that it has any relevance to nursing .

Once you finish your first semester, you can start to get work. You may even be given some casual hours at the nursing home you were working at for your placement.

Hi all,

I completed Cert III Aged care last December & am planning to progress to nursing. However, I havent been able to find any work as a recently graduated AIN as almost all places require you to have at least a year experience, otherwise you  can go with an agency which will likely just throw you in the deep end...
