Hi Keeshy,

Yeh it was good lots of text books and workbooks and those terrible things that start with the letter A (assignments) Our first like group assignment is to design a poster for working eeffectively with Culturally diverse Patients, clients etc. Our little group of 3 are doing a poster related to death and dying from palliative care through to funeral arrangements for the Asian community, mainly Buddist. I think the most important issue when working with/caring for people from a different country, is COMMUNICATION and of course understanding their culture. Without communication then how can you do an assessment. Got to learn to use and understand medical terminology, u know prefixes, suffixes, roots and combining forms. and teacher said yesterday that we have to start thinking like enrolled nurses and not AIN, as long as we dont go out of our scope. All in all I am enjoying it even though lots of work to do.

Cheers RC
