Yes I agree, with the veteassess test its really important to make sure you are proof reading! One thing that they dont tell you in the exam is you do one section at a time and then thats it for that section, so we did maths first then literacy, and once the maths is over, you cant go back to the answers sheet and fill in extra answers or anything. So the big thing with the maths is how quick time goes! make sure you are getting as many answers circled as possible.
With the literacy, it really isnt that difficult if it is your first language, but even then, it's not that bad! With the essay writing part, i sat and jotted down the points i would write about each topic before exam day that i found on the net from other people who had sat it. they pretty much use the same ones.... "how would you help a family who has moved to the community and dont speak english well", "write a letter to a friend to convice them to stop smoking", "if you were bedridden, what would you want from someone caring for you".... they're the ones i can remember.... one of my interviewers said apparently there was a new one asking about what hope means to you, or something like that, which sounds really hard!
I sat the vetassess twice, and got 22/40 numeracy and 38/40 lieracy. So resat the numeracy component and got 28/40 numeracy, and that got me in!
so good luck, and really study the maths because alot of it isnt only if you know what you're doing, but how quick you can do it. If you are anything like me, i had to get my speed up because it had just been too long since doing maths at school
Goodluck!!
