Heya.

I enrolled at GCIT in November 2010 and paid similar (slightly more after my textbooks) to the figure you have mentioned. There are more affordable places that offer the course but GCIT was prefferable for me, even though it was much more expensive.

GCIT is now eligable for VET fee HELP. I'm not sure if this will assist you, but some students have found this very helpful as it works much like FEE HELP (HECS) that many University students are able to receive to pay their debt back in pre-tax dollars throughout their career.

Will you be studying full-time or part-time?

Good luck!

Hi, I am interested in the online part time-I live in Melbourne, unfortunately I am not citizen of Australia which means I am not eligible to apply the fee helper(it is still worth if I am successfully to complete it), anyway, it is not a big problem for me, i am pretty concerned if it is hard to complete it, because English is not my first language, also english is important in this course. don't know what it is going on.....,anyone's idea????

English is important in the course, but a lot of people with English as their first language aren't very good at it yet either!

I'm sure you'll do fine if you apply yourself. I work full-time and am studying part-time and find the workload ok as long as I keep on top of things.

VET Fee Help only became available in recent months and many students have done the course and paid for it in full and have found it to be a good course to gain them entry into the Nursing profession.

Good luck

Hey guys. I'm also looking at starting in March this year, Emz13 might see you there. To any one that has done the course and works full time, how did you find the work load, with completing so many hours of prac and working through the assignments? And are all the exams done at the Gold Coast during residential weeks? Appreciate your help guys.

Hi Everyone.

Hoping someone may be able to assist with my enquiry.
Due to financial committements (mortgage bills etc) I can not afford to take 18months of work to study full-time at Tafe NSW so I am wondering if there are any places training colleges/institues in NSW that offer the Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) by Distance Education and/or Online????

I have notice that Queensland Institute of TAFE offeres this course in online mode, but it does requires some trips to the Gold Coast to completed the practical/residential classes. Has any one in NSW completed this course through Queensland TAFE by online mode and got work in NSW? If so, how did you find the course, was it hard, did you have lots of support etc from Queensland TAFE?? Iam thinking of doing this course, but want to make sure it is the right choice and best option.

Thanks, Melanie

Hi Everyone, I to have been decline from getting into Bachelor of Nursing, due to me not completing Year 12, (many moons ago). So now am enrolling in GCIT Enrolled Nursing - Division 2. I currently work full-time (until beginning of June), have 3 kids and plan to enrol as Full-Time. Call me crazy, but also did Cert III and some of Dip Accounting a few years ago by correspondence didn't find it to hard.

Am really excited to start and hope that I can do complete this course. Am having a career change 15yrs of Accounting/Bookkeeping is enough for me.

Good luck to everyone starting in March and hope to chat with a few of you or meet you in Res Blocks.

Hi, I did my EEN's through GCIT, graduated in 2010. I only paid $7500, however the course was in partnership with Greenslopes private hospital. I would recommend this course as it pretty much gaurantees you a job afterwards, the course is only run 3 days a week therefore you can still work part time. Everything is held at the hospital as well as class room days, nothing is done at GCIT. After my course I was offered a Graduate program in theatre, been working there now neally 4 months.

Hi I am currently doing my Certificate 3 in aged care in Ipswich, I did not complete year 12 and I was wondering if anyone knows if Cert 3 in aged care is a good pre-requisite for a diploma in nursing anywhere?
