am i right in thinking that an enrolled nurse has to work under the direct, or indirect supervision or a RN1. I work in a supported living village as an enrolled nurse and have been told that the RN who i used to work with will not be replaced. It effectively means i have to make all clinical decisions and manage all the care without any input, or without having an RN on call for advice. Is this right? I dont have much to do with the medications as the personal carers supervise from webster packs, but i have been told as it's a "community setting" i dont need to have an RN!

Susannah, I can only encourage you to work within your scope of practice. If you're not comfortable with a situation and feel that it could do with external help...inform management. Most ENs are med endorsed, so checking that webster packs are properly dispensed in important too. Most facilities would have an RN in some form of management role, you might be able to call on that person. Good luck
