Tia
I am about to go into EN Stage 3 and we had our Medication Calculation exam at the end of last semester. I must say that alot of students were worried about it. I am an accountant at the moment - so it didn't phase me.
Having said that I think that everyone ended up passing in the end. If you just take your time and make sure that your answers are logical - it isn't too bad. I think that fact that everyone was really nervous about it - just made it seem harder than it was.
We also had weekly maths classes at TAFE to help us prepare - so there wasn't any surprises as such. I don't know what college you are at and if they support you with it in the same way.
We also had two chances to pass it (and get 100%). Don't stress about it - that would be my advice.
It is a stress - but I thought it is logical that we need to get 100% - because you don't want to make a mistake with med calcs even 1% of the time with your patients - as it could have serious consequences.
Good luck and enjoy the rest of your studies.
Cheers
Rebecca
