Hi,
I’m quite new to this website so please bare with me.
I’m currently a nursing student at TAFE and we have been asked to write an essay however they have asked us to decide on our own thesis topic I was wondering if I could get any suggestions please as I have only come up with 2 topics which are really quite broad I would ultimately like to conduct an essay in relation to a controversial mental health topic however any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Topic 1- The medias portrayal of mental illness has a negative impact on the general population.
And
Topic 2- Was going to be around the issue of the no smoking ban implemented in hospitals..e.g. aggression and violence..

Hi Mandy. I think the first topic you have there would be quite interesting. There are many feature films that use mental illness and not exactly portrayed correctly. You may also put the spin on the effects of media and nursing students into persuing a career in mental health.

Other idea's I could come up wiith: The effects of mental illness in parents on children...

Hmmm I will think about it and come back :)
