Hi, I have recently completed a GNP in a hospital which I hated and I am wanting to get into GP nursing or community nursing. I have been told you need 2 years exp for community.  Does anyone know how hard it is to get into GP nursing as a recent graduate with 1 years exp. I have applied to do a grad cert in general practice nursing.  Thanks

I know of a recent grad that failed to get new grad, but managed to find work in a GP clinic.

Research can sometimes be an option. Like a clinical research nurse position that coordinates a specific (or usually a number of) clinical drug trials or observational studies. Often all that is required is a background in nursing. Often it can mimic a GP practice, depending on the area of research, such as out patients set up (eg. oncology). Often is good daytime job (office) hours, both private and public institutions offer these types of positions.

I'm always on the look out for RN's interested in coordinating research trials. PM me if you are Sydney based and consider this?
