Hi

Hopefully I'm posting this in the correct area?!

I'm currently working as an EEN 5 and am midway through my bachelor of nursing (8 subjects to go). I have been doing part time study for some time now and am looking to enrol back in full time study beginning 2013. However, I'm really worried about the amount of clinical placement involved. I have a young family support and just don't know how I can not work for large blocks of time to complete the prac. I know all universities are different in regards to the amount of clinical placement involved and how it is structured. I desperately want to complete my bachelor but money is so tight. I'm currently located in Brisbane and am happy to undertake correspondence learning if necessary. I'm looking for some advice on which uni to enrol in? I was told that some uni's you can delay all of your clinical placement until the end but can't find anything about this?? Are there any uni's that have some flexibility with clinical placement ie: can be undertaken 1 day a week over extended period of time? Or in one large block at the end? Or any advice on which uni's have the least amount of practical placement? (The bulk of my degree so far was undertaken at University of Wollongong so a uni that gives good credits would be great too)...Sorry for all the questions...just getting really desperate and struggling to juggle time, work, family, finances etc :-(

Notre Dame University has a lot of practical placement.  Some of the unis offer most of their units online which means that you may only have to go into uni 1-2 days per week.  I recently spoke with a lady in WA who is doing her RN by correspondence at the University of QLD (I think it was this uni from memory - it was definitely a QLD uni) -she is an EN already though so not sure if this is only for EN conversion.  She does her placement in WA which the university sorts for her - I'm not sure though how flexible they are.  Some of the unis that have large amounts of students are flexible with prac placements as they find it difficult to place all the students (as with my uni). Good luck.
