Hi there,

Over the years there has been alot of enquiries into nursing such as education, future shortage of nurses etc. has anything productive come out of these enquiries, or any of the many recommendations that were put through. I don't know thats why I call them talk Fests. any answers?

It would be interesting to skim over newspapers and internet sites, see what various agencies have promised, and see if any of the promises have been enacted.

Hi Tropicana,

I remember reading all these enquiries on the parliament website, might see if I can find them again and see what is happening.

RC I noticed that the taskforce only went to 2006? Shows you how far they went. I have to have a good read, but is it all just reports. And I love the comment about normal attrition rates in nursing employment. Am I cynical?

hi tropicana

Yeah, you have to have a good read of it to understand what the hell is going on. I just download bits of it and read it. Too much to read in one hit, get brain overload. One thing that is of interest to me is what is going to happen to aged care workers who have not done their cert 3 by 2008? I thought it was mandatory to have done it to work in aged care anyhow. You can tell who has not done the course, by the way they work, they have no idea. I am probably being a bit over the top here, because if they did the course they would understand alot of the basic, like doing urine test, temperature, pulses etc etc. enough of my grumbling. Normal attrition rates in nursing yeah sure!

bye rc
