Hi all and thanks for reading,
Does anyone know which university has the shortest course for conversion on Enrolled Nurse to Registered Nurse? When I was at uni a number of years back, people use to be able to get credit for 8 units out of the 24 units if you had a TAFE diploma in EN. Recently I have been searching the web and found that at ECU and Curtin University (in WA), you now have to do 24 units, the only difference is that some of the units are different to the main stream Bachelor of Nursing. It use to be that students with an EN diploma could finish the course in 2 years. Now it is 3 years full time so from a financial point of view, there is not really a whole lot of benefit from studying EN before doing RN. Is this new structure to the EN pathway Bachelor of Nursing just a money making business? ie, you now have 8 additional units to complete.
I would be interested to hear if anyone knows of a university where you can complete RN within 2 years if you already have a diploma. Is anyone studying at Charles Darwin University with a TAFE diploma and do you get any credits? I have seen that people can do the course in 2 years at Curtin university if they have been working as an EN for at least one year..... but I'm in a hurry :)
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
