Hi,

I just received a phone call from Royal Melbourne Hospital to attend a interview for their 2013 graduate nurse program.

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of questions will they ask? e.g. pharmacological agents, clinical scenario, medical processes, medication calculation.

I need some guidance to prepare for this interview as I am really interested and hoping for a chance to participate in their graduate nurse program.

Thanks!

Katy

Hi Katy,

How did you go with your GNP?

Was just wondering if you could share with me your experiences at the interviews that you may have attended for the graduate programme i.e what type of questions were asked by the interview panel etc

I am a student and have just completed my 2nd year nursing and trying to prepare myself for the GNP 2014.

Thank you

Hi CHLPEP,

I had an interview in NSW for a GNP so I can share some information with you :)

I was asked 5 questions:

1. If it is a busy day on the ward and you are asked to sign out an S8 and then the nurse tells you they will administer it alone, what would you do?

2. You have three patients ringing their bells. One has chest pain, the second is a Type I Diabetic feeling faint and the thirds IV antibiotic pump is beeping. How would you prioritise patient care?

3. What does 'infection control' mean to you?

4. If you felt a team member had a problem with your work how would you handle the situation?

5. What personal attributes make you a great candidate for our GNP?

They then asked if I had any questions.

I hope this helped :)
