Hi Everyone.

Hoping someone may be able to assist with my enquiry.
Due to financial committements (mortgage bills etc) I can not afford to take 18months of work to study full-time at Tafe NSW so I am wondering if there are any places training colleges/institues in NSW that offer the Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) by Distance Education and/or Online????

I have notice that Queensland Institute of TAFE offeres this course in online mode, but it does requires some trips to the Gold Coast to completed the practical/residential classes. Has any one in NSW completed this course through Queensland TAFE by online mode and got work in NSW? If so, how did you find the course, was it hard, did you have lots of support etc from Queensland TAFE?? Iam thinking of doing this course, but want to make sure it is the right choice and best option.

Thanks, Melanie

Hi Melanie, I am in exactly the same boat as you are and I have been researching online courses. Have you found out anymore informationn about this Queensland course as I notice you have no replies yet? Another course I have found is at nursesonline.com.au. The Division 2 Nursing course can be covered in 6months or one year(at most 3 years). I am waiting to hear back from them and let you know what I find out. In the meantime if anyone else could help here I would appreciate it also.

Cheers Trishy67

I'm six months into my Diploma of Nursing at the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE (GCIT). It's expensive $16,000 for the course, part-time and you need to attend residential school.

I've not obtained work as yet, I'm looking into my clinical placement now.

I have done heaps of research and start the Dip of Nursing in March - part-time through Gold Coast Institue of TAFE (GCIT). I have no prior nursing expereince, thats why I took part-time mode rather then full-time (to give me more time to study and plus I work full-time and have a home to manage!!).

I am very excitted to start the course, this is the only way I can do the course and work full-time, NSW Tafe do not offer this course via distance/online.

Is anyone else starting in March from NSW????
