Hi everyone!
My name is Aimee and i'm in my final year of my Bachelor of Nursing at Monash University.
Writing my applications for my graduate year next year at the moment and its got me thinking about the dreaded interview. haha ;)
Basically I love nursing and can't see myself in any other career, but i have this little problem where i talk a lot and and have trouble in settings where i am nervous/excited and i basically say stupid things or talk too much.
I've been told by Grads from least year to start practicing my interview questions and responses now to make sure i am prepared. I've googled some sample questions and also watched a youtube video about some of the types of questions i am likely to be asked and these are some of them that i will be preparing answers for. I will also look up the vision and values of each hospital i apply for and somehow manage to weave them into my answers.
Tell us a bit about yourself
Why our organisation?
Discuss your biggest strengths and weaknesses
Tell me about a situation you found challenging? How did you respond? (Critical thinking skills)
Tell me about a time when you had a bad experience at work? How did you deal with it?
Give me an example of a time in which you... (had to deliver unpleasant news to a family, how was it handled?)
Describe the most significant learning experience you've had?
Relate a scenario where you have worked with someone who did things a bit differently to you in the clinical setting? How did you handle it? (Conflict?)
Describe to us how you perform under pressure
Are you a team player?
What motivates you to be a nurse?
Tell us why we should hire you
Do you have any questions for us?
If anyone here can give me any advice for preparing answers (like what they are looking for in a Grad?) or even just suggestions for other questions to prepare for, i would be so grateful!!!
Thank you.
Aimee :)
