Hi Kristy,
I don’t know too much about EEN courses, especially correspondence, and if you’re able to apply for uni, I would go for an RN degree anyway, but I can answer the rest of your question. I am in my 3rd and final year of my degree which I attend fulltime. When I started, I was working fulltime, but that was way too much so I dropped back to part-time work. I was reluctant to do my degree part-time as I am 38 and I want to get qualified ASAP. I realise that may not be possible for you though.
My partner works fulltime and we have a 3 year old daughter, a mortgage, pets, vehicles, busy lives…etc, and it’s really hard. Particularly when unpaid clinical placement comes around. But it is rewarding and I believe the hard work will pay off when I finish. I mentioned the option of going for RN above because in the grand scheme of things, there is not that much more time involved (1 – 1&1/2 extra years FT), but you’ll have so many more options when you finish. Good luck with which ever path you choose, and enjoy it.
Regards,
Jan
