Hi all,

I have just finished my certificate III in aged care and am looking at broadening my career scope. I am thinking of doing my diploma in Nursing (general) and matbe adding a community services certificate III to give me more options.

My questions are:

1) do you think doing a diploma in nursing via correspondence is doable? Or would it be too hard doing it via distance?

2) can anyone recommend a good school either in victoria or qld for my diploma in nursing? Please :)

3) combined with my diploma of nursing, what added career options do you think having a cert III Iin community services will open up for me?

Thanks in advance to anyone who replys :)

Hi, It depends on what Tafe you want to go to. You are better going through GCIT on the gold coast in QLD. As from memory they go by percentage system.

Hi,

I am currently doing Diploma of Nursing online through GCIT on the Gold Coast and loving it, you will be fine if you choose this option, there is a study guide each week to follow, most teachers are great in communication by responding quickly to emails etc. The process has been a lot easier than I thought it would be, I am doing full-time, work 2 days a week and also have 4 kids. You just need to be organised and time manage yourself. You would need to attend residential school at least 3 times during the course, usually 2 + 2 + 1 weeks and you do placement in your home town.

Hope that helps :)
