Hi everyone, I'm currently studying div 2 part time and am considering applying for a full time div 2 course instead. Just wondering if anyone has done this and if so how did you cope??
I am currently studying two days and working in a job that is totally unrelated to the health care sector. Also i feel that i would take alot more in by studying full time.
Any thoughts, Let me know

Hi Molly, I'm not working in the health care sector as i have no experience at all and haven't even been on my first placement yet. Also i figured it would be difficult to organise time off for placements. So i'm currently working in a family business where it is flexible that i can take time off as needed.

Hi Alli,

I started my Div 2 course at tafe part time 2 days a week last year, and transferred into full time this year (4 days a week). I'm finding the change quite dramatic - I'm currently on my second placement and have a whole bunch of assignments due in the weeks after I get back from placement. Part time was still challenging, but you need to be more organised to study full time. I study full time and do agency PCA work on the weekends to get by as I can't afford not to work. However, I really recommend not working unless you really have to if you want to devote some decent time to assignments and exam revision.

I'm loving doing this full time - you are right, I do take in a lot more this way. Last year I struggled as the lecture blocks for subjects could be really far apart by the time you had other subjects in between.

Good luck - ultimately, it depends on how long you want/need to spend on schoolwork.

Hey thanks for the advice guys. I've decided to stick with where i am and keep doing it part time. I figure even if i switch to fulltime i really will only finish 2-3 months earlier.. and i figure its not worth putting myself under ANY more stress than i need to.. for the sake of 2-3 months. I'm going on my first placement in a few weeks, aged care. So excited yet so nervous.
