Where do we find what text books we are going to need? I haven't come across anything yet.

Ah, go here:

CDU website, Student Portal, Services, CDU Bookshop.

There's a notice in the middle of the screen. Click the bit where it says "now available".

That will take you to the bookshop bit you need. Then just add each unit code in the area to the left of the screen.

Welcome to the 'wonderful' learnline lol ;p

holy moly.... why the hell are nursing text books always so darned expensive! so im guessing thats the combined cost of a few books?? and is that for f/t load?

Lulu..at least being EN's we can maybe claim some of the costs in tax?? i'll need to check with my accountant on that to be sure of what the rules are....

The Lewis's Med/Surg is used in more then one subject. I have just used it for NUR223 and will be using for the 2nd year prac.

A tip for those of you who work in a hospital, have a look at what books they have in the library. I have been borrowing the textbooks that I can and it has saved a lot of $$.

Also if you are working in a health field, you can claim the cost as a work related expense.

Thanks for the help, I found the book lists. Although mine is coming to a total of over $700, plus postage, not sure what i have done there. Jules as far as i know we can claim text books, at least that is what my accountant told me last year. I guess i will be doing a few extra shifts to pay for these books now. I was hoping that maybe i already had some of the ones on the list but no luck so far.

Don't buy books...they are way too expensive!!

Here's a little tip on how to get what you want for free.

Now that you have your book list...go to the library and borrow books with similar titles - example - medical surgical nursing or peadiatric nursing. Because everyone's going to try to borrow the prescribed books from the library, being tight ar*ses like you...lol..just kidding. You will find books with the same tilte but by different authors WILL have almost verbatim/mirror image of what is in the prescribed book.

All you need is study/read the chapters in tandem with your course outline and you are on the home run...

I never buy books and it has worked for me..hope it works for you too.
