Hi just wondering if I am on the right track with my interpretation of what these are?

Do you think professional attributes relate to what I thought would be considered skills: critical thinking, communication skills and information literacy?

Or of a more personal characteristic that can be applied to the nursing profession such as:  Caring compassion, attention to detail, communication?

I've tried to find something definitive but I am having trouble.

Any opinions gratefully accepted.

Thanks.

Professional attributes - Respecting and advocating patient confidentiality. Example - You get a call from someone claiming to be a relative of a patient enquiring about the patient's health, details and plan. What do you do? Best way to tackle this - Suggest that the person speak with the pt directly.

Professional attributes includes nurses code of conduct (protecting your colleagues from harm in your work, protecting pts from harm, advocating for patients, requirement for you to improve your skills or to seek those with the necessary skills to do a job for the patient if you feel you are not competent enough) and legal requirements. Example of legal requirement is reporting suspected child abuse, that's where there is an exclusion to patient confidentiality.

Cheers
