hi,

I might be getting into an EN course (might because I have still got the interview process to go, but I've injured my wrist recently and it might still be a point of contention for the interviewers). While I still have lots of time at work (being on light duty) and so on, I would like to know a few things to help me stay ahead and on top of possible assignments and exams.

I have gotten a couple of textbooks, most imporantly, the Fundamentals of Nursing 3e. I was wondering what chapters are usually the focal points so I can start on them now. Yes, I know and understand the whole book is important, but I am quite unable to finish the whole book in the next month and would just want to focus on the first few possible chapters.

next is Anatomy and Physiology, I understand that the textbook often used is Marieb. I wouldn't bank entirely on using that textbook since CIT has got plenty of self-published texts. However, I would like to know what chapters I should focus on as well? Muskeletal? Nervous systerms? just only the first few chapters people usually learn.

:) thanks!

If this topic is still relevent to you, it's a very difficult question to answer. It depends on what classes you're taking first and what your lecturer starts off with. It would help to have a good understanding of how the body works at a cellular level ahead of time - this can be quite hard to get your head around when you're pressed for time! It's one of the first few chapters in the A&P Marieb.

As far as the Potter & Perry goes, you will use that for probably all your subjects at some stage and there's really no starting point to go on for that one. The Mosby's will come off the shelf again and again also! Good luck with everything :)
