Hello.
I'm studying Bach of Nursing at Deakin, Geelong. I've been an endorsed enrolled nurse for 6 years and working in acute care for 3.
I'm studying part time so i have a acouple years to go.
I want to know if i HAVE to do a grad year, or if i can jump into a Post-Grad. I want to work in ICU, and hate wasting my time, i'm dreading a dull-grad year that will drag out and hold off doing what i want to do for another year

You dont have to do a 'graduate year' in the traditional sense. However if you want to start in ICU its still classed as the 'graduate year' expect generally you stay in ICU for the whole year and dont rotate. Im an ICU nurse and we take graduates into ICU every year plus mid-year straight out of uni. Having been an EEN for 6 years will definetely help with your time management aswell as ICU is quite demanding for new grads. Good luck!

I agree with ticklish, you can go straight into transition year even as you gain entry under the graduate program. That only means you don't rotate. I think the only question is timing...if you miss the start date for transition it can mean a few months later before you sign up.
