Hi,

I am in need of some advice here I am a permanent staff member of a facility and also a T/Leader, have had an issue with a casual staff member who seems to be very opininated and had to pull her up on something the other day. It appears she has now gone to Management and complained through her body language of late I can see she has something against me. I asked Management what the problem is they would clarify and told me they would speak on it later but to treat her like I do other staff members. This girl is known for pushing driving people out of there jobs as she did in the last place she worked. Has anyone got any strategies on how to deal with someone like this.

It really is annoying when you are for some time working at at a facility and as a Team leader to boot.. You have a smart arse employed a casual.. You are doing what is required directing the traffic so to speak.. Anyone who has worked any length of time in age care would know what is required of them... Be assertive tell this person to pull her or his head in. If this person not happy with your direction, then together seek a time with your management to get this sorted out...

Nellie50, Does the T/Leader change everyday? or you are the only T/Leader? Do you have Staff meeting when you can bring the issue up to all staff and resolve/sort out the problem?
