Hi Guys First up Hello to Everyone who Reads this Im brand New to the site and I have just started my Cert 3 in aged care.
When that is completed im looking into doing all the related courses (HACC and the like) and possibly going into EN. Oh and just so you know its My birthday In a week or so : )

Anyway I need help with a problem at the place im doing my work experience at. 2 of the people im working with who have slight dementia are being kept apart by their families AND the staff .... call me crazy but this doesnt seem right they actually physically keep them away from each other and have threatened to send the male away from the Home. The staff just.... accept this ......... im at a loss for words

Plz help

hi im also new to the forum.........ive held my cert 3 for 4 years in aged care.......currently doing my cert 4 and start my eens in 4 weeks.......im 35 , work fulltime, have a husband, 3 kids plus a move in, 2 dogs, a cat, plenty of goldfish, 2 hermit crabs and 2 mice. im so excited about what my future holds!!!!

as for the concern u have about the 2 residents.......best u speak to the service manager, even though you are on work experience, do what u think is right......ask questions and you may discover there is a good reason why they have seperated them....we dont learn if we dont ask
