Hi Bop,
I work as an AIN (medication endorsed) for 6 years in a nursing home at caboolture and have just started my Diploma of Nursing (EEN) externally through Ithaca Tafe at redhill. I am 37 yrs young. The course is 2 years and i am working full time as well (80 hrs a fortnight). Each night i come home and study for at least an hour, by no means is it easy (far from it!!! I havent study since highschool.) But i thoroughly recommend it! Go for it. Go on the tafe website and look for Diploma of nursing courses...
either externally or part time they offer both, not sure if it is offered at the gold coast tafe tho.
All the best.

Hi Kirsty thanks for your reply, i still have a few more questions though if thats ok about your response,
You said you have been working as a AIN ( medication endorsed) what exactly do you mean by that cause im an AIN and just an AIN, does that make sense? also which state do you live in? i live on the gold coast, and iv looked up many tafes but they dont have diploma of nursing, its kinda really frustrating. Sorry to be a pain.
Thanks BOP

Hi Bop,

here's a link - http://www.qtac.edu.au/

QTAC is the central body coordinating TAFE and Tertiary Education (Unis). You can quickly narrow the institutions that offer a Diploma of Nursing (Div 2) and contact the TAFEs respectively for rentry requirements.

hmmm..AIN that's medication endorsed...that's interesting.

Just note that whilst doing your diploma, you may have to complete clinical placements...which could bite into your work roster. Congrats of your first move and all the best.

Cheers

Hi Bop
I'm starting Diploma of Nursing at Gold Coast Tafe online on the 1st April, just completed the computer proficiency test. I'm 47yrs young so I am a tad nervous about this, hope the brain can cope :) I completed Cert 3 aged care certificate and did it externally and thought I coped with that and completed it in 8 months , so I thought I would test myself again :)
