I am a mature age student who has just successfully passed her Cert 3 in Aged Care. Unfortunately I am unable to give my mother the fantastic news as she has just been diagnosed with Dementia which is at the stage where she does not comprehend what she is being told.
Gaining this qualification has inspired me to pursue a Career in Nursing so my next step is to move forward and do an EEN Course.
With my mother afflicted with this terrible disease, I want to progress through Nursing and gain knowledge and skills as well as qualifications that I could use to help me better understand Dementia. I want to delve deeper into Dementia so that I can help others cope with this disease.
My question is, to anyone who can help, what Career Path should I take? I have no idea on which way to go.
Any help and advice that can be offered would be greatly accepted and appreciated.
