Hi everyone, i am still waiting for my registration. Ahpra received it on the 6th july and everytime i called up they said they were waiting for my criminal history to come back. i handed in a stat dec for my criminal history last wednesday and now apparantly my application is "with the supervisor". i've missed the start of my grad program twice now and everytime i call Ahpra i can't even get through to Brisbane and end up talking to someone in a different state. so all up i've been waiting 10 weeks and have had to start working as an AIN to pay the bills. so frustrated.

Hi ash1983, I was very lucky and it only took six weeks for mine to come through. It doesn't make any difference what uni you attended or what paperwork you may have put in, it is purely luck of the draw. The one thing I know has worked for others is they have gone into the ahpra office with their work contract and a letter from the hospital stating the start date of their grad program. In most cases they have had their application completed within a few hours or the next day. This is after waiting months.

The problem with ahpra is lack of staff, and rules being made up and changed as it goes along. One time when I was put through to another state office (I am in Brisbane) I was told that they have seven staff and if the computer program crashes which it frequently does they don't bother answering the phones as all they get is abuse, the manager I spoke to said people don't realise that they cannot do a thing to help as it is all on computer. I had my calls answered by security personal as well as the marketing department. Do not let them give you the line that if you stop calling they could get on with the job, the more pressure the more staff they will have to employ.

Hi Caz10. wow 6 weeks! i actually went into ahpra to hand in my stat dec and they also took a copy of my work contract so they have everything they need. i just called them and they are now telling me that it will be another 48 hours to 10 days before i'm registered!!! i think i will just have to be persistent in calling them everyday.

Hi ash1983 from what I have been told crying works as well....a friend was told 48 hours, three days later he phoned them once again got the run around so he started crying - the stress was just too much. He received his registration that day.

Hi guys'

I have rego. now, i finished my course in june. It took me 5 visits, 12 phone calls, 2 emails and 2 trips to ANF.

Go to the ANF and join as an member (associate) $20 and they will help you. What ever shit the AHPRA ask for just do it, no matter how unrelated, how stupid, just do what they ask. But go to the ANF.

Hi everyone. just remembered i was posting here! i ended up getting registered on the 14th after going to AHPRA in brisbane and being on the verge of tears. so it does seem to work! the lady at the front said she'd send an email to the manager and around 5pm that day i got a call saying i was registered. Finally!

Hi All.

Posted in my Rego Application from Far Nth Qld, to Bris on 30 August. Got a call today from ahpra saying i had been approved, and giving me my rego number. Checked online, and yep - there i am! Whee heee! All up, 3 weeks 3 days, from posting off to getting it. I am definitely one of the lucky ones!! Cheers, Sarah

Hi.... I live in NSW and have a huge story re my RN registration.... firstly it took me 12 contacts to AHPRA to get someone to phone/email me back.....been waiting 6 months to be re registered... 193 dollars deducted from my credit card 10 September and have heard nothing....I accidentally let my rego lapse while overseas...

AHPRA is a nightmare... I and others have not seen anything like this

Today, I found out that AHPRA took payment for registration from my account.
Does that mean my application is successful and accepted by them?

Taking the money is the first thing AHPRA do, and does not indicate anything other than that they received your application.

I know of Overseas applicants that are still waiting for an "initial asessment" after 11 months.

Depending on which office you applied to, the average processing time seems to be about 6 months at the moment.

Hi everyone,

I have been reading your posts, so annoying that since your posts nothing has changed having this APRA registration process. There is a long waiting. I know someone's process took at least a year!!! I am a New Grad and I am waiting since the end of May. I had my ceremony (graduated) at the end of April this year. I am still waiting. I rang them twice. Who I have spoken they did not seem to know what is going on with the process and I am left with no satisfaction with the  process which is very long. I can not apply anywhere to work until I get that piece of paper. So annoyed, is there anyone have the same situation this year as new grad? Thanks

Due to major surgery from which I have fully recovered, I lapsed my nurses Registration and Midwifery renewals by 5 months. Stupid me! AHPRA told me that I have "had to reapply from scratch". Therefore, I have had to send them all of my Australian and UK Nursing certificates and a CV, etc. They have just sent me an email, stating (quote) "We need evidence that you completed all of your courses.". Duh! We're not awarded our qualifications, WITHOUT completing the courses! I have been forced to make long and expensive phone  calls to the UK, requesting them to send this information to me.(The UK has an 11 hour time difference, to AEST). On speaking with AHPRA, I have learned that they clearly have NO idea or understanding about our nurse trainings, and this both concerns and angers me, +++. They have now given me a final extension date, to supply all of the documents which they are requesting. If I fail (all of their requested documents are being posted to me from the UK), then that's it, for me! Sayonara Nursing! They are playing with our livelihoods, and don't seem to care, or have ANY understanding. Like others, I add that they were quick to process my payments! Now, I don't know if I can ever return to my much loved career. Sad and angry!

Can someone please help me out too?

I am International Registered Nurse and have been in Melbourne for about two months now without a job! Since three months I have been waiting for my AHPRA registration which has eventually just reached to in principle registration stage. All I want to know is how much time does it take once we have provided the in principle ID check at an AHPRA office?

They have the same APRA, system painful waiting process. My colleague took 10 months in the process. I don’t understand why they update system or hire resources to make the process swift and easy.
