I am doing a re-entry to regain my Enrolled Nurse enrolment with QNC. As I was a hospital trained EN in South Australia, I have to do a bridging course to be able to do medications even though I was trained to do them. There is such a vast difference in prices for these courses. As there is such a need for nurses does anyone know of any Government grants or funding to pay for the course. For the re-entry it cost $3500, then I have been quoted $5000 for medications, with this amount I should of gone and done the diploma from scratch. how can they charge so much for these courses? any info would be helpful. thanks

Hi.. Have tried HECS but make sure you request to your employer to deduct extra tax out of your pay otherwise mr taxman will charge you interest which will be of the same equivalent. Cheers. kathee

Hi kathleen, Hope all goes well with RNCA. I'm in the process of finishing law, I have two modules to go, Acute care and Cultural. I start my clincical placement at Sunshine Coast Private on Monday. And yes I'm stressing about how much I have to complete, I get there! I'm also deciding whether to do the bridging course or uni. I 'm hospital trained from NSW.
Where did you do your prac? any tips?
Cheers Mick

Hi MIck, I was hospital trained in South Australia, if you need a hand with the law module let me know I have finished all that. My email is audreyharte@bigpond.com. I was supposed to go to Caloundra private for my placement TAFE said they had orgainsed it but when I rang to make sure the hospital said no they wont do it. So that was a big let down. anyhow let me know if you need a hand or just keep in touch for support
