Hey there guys,

Just needing a little advice.

I'm currently applying to study Dip. of Nursing at an RTO, does this course need to be completed in order to apply for the Bachelor of Nursing course elsewhere? The field I eventually want to get into is mental health nursing.

I am completely new to the field, having worked in retail and studied retail management previously so really just need some direction.

Cheers,

Ash

Hi Ash,

From what i know, you do not have to complete the diploma to start the bachelors of nursing. (this is in Melbourne) But if i was you, i'd start from the diploma and make my way up. I think it's a much better learning experience and to see if it's right for you. I started from a PCA (personal care assistant) and now i'm nearly finished with my EEN course - best thing i've ever done. I'll happily continue doing my RN1 which is a extra 18 months here in Melbourne @Latrobe university. Hope this has helped ? Let me know if you have anymore questions that i can help you with.

Thanks. Shane.
