Would anyone be able to enlighten me about what I should wear to work in NICU in a public hospital (Melbourne Australia). I start in a few weeks and have no idea what is acceptable and what everyone else wears. Until now I have only worked in the private sector and had uniforms provided.

Does it matter if trousers are blue or black?

Do shirts have to have collars? ( saw some people wearing long-sleeved T-shirts when I went in for the interview)

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

I think its generally white top with navy bottoms - seems to be the safest option. Why not ask them?

for infection control reasons, long sleeved shirts are out completely where i work, which is a nursing home. uniform is short sleeved shirt and navy slacks for us. however, best to ask about it with the facility, or consult the policy manuals.

good luck and have fun

lol super late reply, the goal is to look professional, but casual. Dark trousers/skirt, short sleeve or 3/4 length sleeved collared shirt (as long as you are able to wash up to your wrists).
