Hi everyone~~ So here is my story:

I'm finishing my new graduate program at a major private hospital in Sydney. The one-year education and clinical support are enormous, and all the 40 new grad nurses in my group are doing very well. However, when it comes to the end of our one-year contact, only 1/3 of the grads are accepted for further employment, which has to start from full time night duty. I am offered a contact of full time night duty then back to day shift after a few months. I understood that there is a limited vacancy of full time shift, but forcing all the new grads to start from full time night (for at least 6 months as people said) just sounds unfair to me.

I, like most of the other new grads in my group, has always been royal to the hospital and thought little about leaving (which proved to be silly. I urge all the new grads to think about all the possibilities from beginning of their program). And a half year night shift just not my thing. So now I'm sitting here and thinking about my other possible options. I don't drive, but I guess I can still do some local agency work. I'm very interested in further education, is there any hospital based trainings which can help to pay the bills at same time? Or should I just put up with the night shift to secure a full time job in the city?

Any suggestions??
