I graduated last year as a registered nurse. All of the positions advertised require 12 months experience. I have applied at agencies but they all say their clients require 12 months experience. So no job without experience...no experience without a job I feel like I wasted years of my life getting a degree in a field that everyone says we have a have a shortage in.

note: I know that some student applied for graduate positions and got them. I moved state (Im in VIC now)and once I became eligible for computer job matching the jobs were filled.

Congraulations on graduating and being an RN!

I myself am only still studying as an enrolled nurse but my advice to you is to get involved in volunteer work! Go to libraries as they will usually have a section dedicated to volunteering services. You can help out in the health department. you give back to the community and you get work experience so everyone wins!
