Hi All,

It has been a while since I posted anything on here. Well, I have now finished my Div 2 (EN) with Med Endorsement course at TAFE... and now I'm just waiting for my registration to come through! Hurrah!

My question to you all out there is what should one wear to a grad program interview? I have applied for a couple of Div 2 (EN) grad programs and have an interview lined up for next week and don't quite know how formally to dress.

I have been to many interviews in the corporate world where I always wore a shirt, suit and heels. But I've heard lots of conflicting advice about nursing job interviews. I've been told to wear flats since it shows I'm practically-minded, to wear low heels because it's an interview and more formal, to not wear a suit jacket because I should dress how I would dress coming to work on the ward, then to wear a suit jacket because grad interviews are more formal and there's a need to show you are serious about a career with that hospital. Same with pants vs. skirt, hair up vs. hair down.

Any advice from those who have "been there"?

I will also be going for new grad interviews this year.

Our uni has recommended that we dress formally, more the corporate "dress to impress" look. No jeans or uni nursing uniforms. Good luck.

Hi there!I'm a newgrad nurse, just completed my first rotation(6months)on a medical ward.I wore grey tailored pants,a fitted 3/4 sleeve button-up collared white shirt with a blank knitted vest over the top, dark brown rm williams boots and my hair in a ponytail to my new grad interview with North Coast Area Health. I was rung back that evening with a job offer for my first preference!I dont know if it matters too much what you wear as long as it is clean and neat, dont show too much skin, dont wear too much makeup, and above all wear what makes you feel professional and confident!

Good luck
