Hi,

I've just got an offer for external nursing 2012 at CDU. Is anyone else going to be joining me or is there now?

I just got my offer too, that was quick, I wasnt expecting offers till january...weird. Im not sure what I want to do yet though, I have also applied for la trobe and cqu and uni sa. My only concern is the placements. I live in Mildura, VIC.
Do you know when we have to accept the offer by? I dont know whether to accept it, or if I can wait till other offers come out from the other uni's.
How about you, have you applied for others or just this one?

Hi, can I private message you? I've got a whole list of pros and cons happening at the moment. Too much to write down here.

hi, yep ive got a place at CDU for 2012.
i got in last year and deferred it so am picking it up for next year. im an EN so i go into 2nd year. am apprehensive about how the external learning will work but im gonna give it a go! ill probably only do maybe 2 subjects in first semester, im also going to be doing an EN post grad course in mental health in first semester so i dont want to take on too much at once.

congrats guys for getting in!

Just wanted to let you know that there is a facebook page for CDU nursing students. I'm not sure if I can post the link here, but it's great for asking the current students any questions.

Hi all,

do you mind if i ask why you received offers so soon with CDU? I was under the impression offers didn't come until Jan? Did you do a bridging course through them?

Hi Jallie,
I have no idea why we got early offers, I too was under the impression that offers dont come out till Jan. I got my offer on the 21st Oct, and I applied the day Satac opened for applications. I have previous training behind me 8 years ago but, not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Didnt do any briding course or anything.
I wish I hadnt of got the offer so early, im so excited now, cant wait for the enrolment stuff to come out.
Im guessing you have applied also??

Most Universities have 2 rounds of offers, one in November and the other in early January. SO getting your placement offer early should not be a surprise. Nothing to worry also for the January offers, does not mean you have been kicked to the back. Universities need to tier their offers to gain feedback and organise their intake. After January, there could and usually would be anopther offer to fill in those who drop out after accepting offers because they may have decided to take on another offer from another University.

CDU is a great University for open learning, I know of nurses who have done their RNs with them and its really flexible.

Well I congratulate all of you and wish you all the best. Enjoy your clinical placements and take the opportunity to learn as much as you can...Keep an inquisitive mind and you;ll be surprise how much there is to augment your theory based knowledge.
