Hi!

My issue is similar to that of a question posted by GO NURSING recently. I understand that RMIT doesn't have a mid year intake, but ACU does have one .starting in mid July.

I'm a permanent resident(local student category) and does not hold any previous Diploma and my question is if i will be eligible for a Govt.subsidised fee, because i can't afford to pay the full fee of approx 10-15k. I'm a Healthcare card holder.

Anyone with knowledge about this issue.please respond early.

Hi annetie
today i went for the aptitude test and interview for the diploma at ACU.. i actually am finding it really hard to find a placement for nursing but ACU sound fantastic and hoping to gain a place there. I understand the fees are quite high they said there looking at about $10000 yet if you are a concession or healthcare card holder they go down to about $1600 which is a massive drop.
The only other place hosting mid years is Vic Uni which do offer FEE-help .. i wish you luck .. im in the same position as yourself! If Kevin Rudd thinks there is a shortage of nurses then why not allow us to have a shot and help the medical industry out.
hope all goes well for you
kind regards

Hey

First of all good luck. I entered ACU in sep 2008 for Cert IV in Nursing. With a health care card it cost me $300, without it woulld have been $1200, which is still really good. But it was one of the worst educational experiences of my life-so if you do get in make sure you photocopy everything- they lost over half of my assignments, and be prepared to go of for placements at last minute notice. Although for your sake i hope they have improved.

Saying that it does have a very good medication course

Cheers
