Hello everyone, so Ive decided I would like to be an enrolled nurse and doing some research have come across this site. I would like to ask a question as I cannot find the info I need via google.

Im looking at doing an Enrolled Nurse Traineeship in melbourne but not sure which hospitals do this. There is plenty of info on this in NSW but nothing in VIC. Does anyone know if Western Health offer this? I live in the Western suburbs and have 2 young children so I would prefer to work & study close to home. I know kangan Tafe offer the Enrolled nurse course so perhaps I could do my study there and then work hopefully at the Western in Footscray.

Any info would be appreciated

Welcome to Nurse central :-)

I am not sure if western health do offer the traineeships but its worth enquiring about. I know if you contact traineeships Vic (linked with apprenticeships vic i think..google it) they may be able to help you out. Some places might allow you to work for them and help you with uni...if you know what I mean.

Otherwise I know for certain that ACU in the city do traineeships, RMIT offer them and also they offer traineeships through yarra west which is an aged care place in yarraville. Im in the western suburbs too so I looked around a bit for them a few years ago.

Goodle it and see what you can come up with.

I looked into traineeship also, I am in western suburbs. You can apply thru RMIT and also Mercy health. Kangan dont normally do traineeships however a lady I sat my VETASSES test with got a traineeship thru them for next year.

Good luck in finding something suitable.
