Your advice was great and I feel a lot better about the test. I think the hardest part is not knowing what to study up on exactly . I'm terrified there will be something on there I didn't cover! Anyway I'll keep revising and just do the best I can! Megan

Thanks for your advice, I think I've pretty much been studying up on all the areas you mentioned incl. drug calcs. Just re/ the graphs I haven't really looked much at them, were they pretty much just standard graphs? Also was there anything on the test where you went oh no I didn't look at that!? Some days I feel really confident then the next I think what if I've forgotten to study up on something! I guess I just need to relax and stop stressing!! Anyway any additional info would be fantastic! Megan

I think I'm going to do okay. I've been working at my maths really hard. I've had a look at the vetassess sample test and the Charles Sturt Uni website and can do all of those exercises easily and have had practice with other websites. I don't seem to be getting stuck on anything in particular now, fingers crossed!! I actually just want to get it out of the way now and hope I get into the course! It's all such a long process! Thanks heaps for your advice, I know it's helped me to just chill and trust in myself! How long until you get your results? I hope you do well!

I sat my entrance exam for ChisholmTafe about 5 weeks ago. I too was really nervous about the maths as it's not my strongest subject!! Anyway the exam covers things like fractions,decimals,percentages,ratio,graphs,metric conversions and a little bit of algebra (where you need to find x). Plus things like basic addition,subtraction etc..There are also a couple of problems involving drug calculations. All of this can be found on the internet to practice. Vetassess also have a sample exam on their website which you could do and it gives you a little bit of an idea how it's all set out etc..Some of the websites i used were Charles Sturt Uni maths for nurses, Flinders nursing and midwifery site and I pretty much googled anything and everything that covered all the above. I can't remember exactly if there was a lot of fraction/percentage conversions but I would definitely cover it. Every mark counts so try and revise as much as you can. ( metric conversion, fractions, decimals, percent, ratio, basic algebra and drug calcs. ) Time goes really fast so don't spend too much time on each question. There are 40 maths questions to do in 30 mins!! Good Luck on Friday!!! Megan

H i have just joined this site. after many speculations as to what i should be doing to upgrade my skills all the tafe and universities replied i should do div 2
now i here that div 2 is just like pca work with more paper work and is now abolished in Chisholm Tafe as they see it as a waste of time.
The big intake of at Moorabbin tafe is only because it has it still going and so called popular mmmmmmmm i wonder why money i suppose?
I have done the test before just study NORMAL MATHS percentages fractions decimals drug calculaitons commen sense addtion problem solving dont waste time on question you dont understand because you have a limited time on everything how you would like to treated if you were an fragile elderly
they give you a specific time on each section of the test you do and they time you its like start and pens down its sooooooo serious be careful not to touch or open the envelopes given.
It is nerve racking you cant slow down on everything and you have just enough time to do 2 essays multiple questions and an incident report
eg how in your version or perspective you saw an incident and have to explain it which you all know lol
so nice neat writing essay format spelling punctuation is all taken to consideration.
one or two questions from the sample test are on the actual test that doesn't finish there if you pass the test you also have to pass the interview you only then ARE accepted to the div2 nursing
so why do div2 nursing when you can go and do bachelor of nursing at chilsom and save save alot of money as they have now abolished div 2 nursing
for credit how much credit can one take into consideration if you fail how far can div2 open all aspect of doors for opportunities I just beleive we are all one and should concentrate on looking after residents and not the money side of it the shit i see it makes sick to my stomache I just want to take them all home and look after them.Hey thats life we say at least they get fed and changed and washed.!!!!! I wot even go there.
We PCA personal are working and its hard dont be ethnical and think i will be the boss you are a PCA when one isn't absent its a whole new world when you become a div 2 you are your own responsibility no back up no mistakes or sorry and short cuts .oh by the way i will be going for my vet assess test on tuesday i now realise it is accepted for 6 months now so you don't have to do it over and over again. Skills plus helps financially and health train is the cheapest i have heard so far and i know holmsglen is helpful also so study dont worry its all common sense I see they have more vacancies for div 2 everywhere even in Dubai thats where the money is girls/boys go for it its on a contract basis for 1 yr make money have the car and the house everything is paid for you only have to work.
all expenses paid by the way and no they are not all Muslims over there.

i just did the test today...it is not as bad as you may think, not easy..it makes you think ( which is what it is supposed to do) but not rocket science either.

Funnily enough the literacy side made me sweat more than the numeracy!

The math is not hard, and it is mostly multiple choice so you can more or less deduce the correct answer just by using common sense.

Practice fractions mostly..

Another thing, there is more than one Vetassess test so the test i got may be different from what you will get obviously..they alternate the test papers so the person sitting next to you gets a different test to you

it eliminates copying ..fair call

anyhow good luck! i think the worst bit is waiting for your results!

i'm doing the test tomorrow. I feel fairly confident with the maths section. Just need to brush up on percentages to fractions!

What is vetasses any way who are they to judge what one is cabilility Where were they when people are attaining their PCA OMG give me a break

And what happens to the people who pay in full to get these course from overseas do they know how to spell and write an incident oh well we will just push that aside wont we cause they pay and some get funded. Actually noone even dares goes into their world. because they are first in line then we australians are next.......oi oi oi bloody yippy yay yeah true blue aussies.

I see everyday how people slack off and do practically nothing. Leave the rest of the work to others and when they complain its an issue to be resolved amongst each other.

I am sick off injustice in the system and would divsion 2 make any difference in our way of working. Thats why most have gone agency work gods its the easiest money anyone can make. some just dont do anyting at all. and their reports are fantastic written more money please. lol
