Just wondering if there is anyone here that has applied for CDU in 2011? either internally or externally?

Hi KK. It seems like a long time doesn't it. Hopefully it comes around quickly. I was told the 13th of Jan. Good luck with your application.

Yes KK I have applied for external. I have studied at CDU before and had no trouble getting in. I am a bit nervous this time though, as I have heard of quite a few people applying.

hi Lulu,
yep myself and my sister have both applied to CDU externally. were just about to finish our EEN course so if we get in we'll be able to apply to go into 2nd year once our EEN registration comes thru. just have to wait and see now.....is anyone else in Melbourne that has applied?

Hi Jules. I am also an EEN. I am in Vic, and know of a couple others who have applied from here too. I was happy with how much credit we will get for the B.nursing, I wasn't expecting it to be as much. Have you seen the units which are credited for next year, it is different to 2010.

hi Lulu, i just had a look at the CDU website and all i can find is a link that says in general a Cert IV will be credited 40 credit points and it says 'Enrolled nurses with a current practising certificate will receive credit for some units'.... when i last checked the website a couple of months ago there was actually info that you could look at that showed exactly what subjects would be credited for ENs with Cert IV and hospital trained ENs also.....and it basically said those with Cert IV would go into 2nd year subjects. it also showed how you could structure the course over 2yrs, or 3 yrs etc dependent on whether you study full or part time. is this the info that you have or am i missing something on the website? are you refering to the 40 credit points that ive just found on the site tonight? am a bit worried now that the credits wont be as much as i expected- if you dont get at least a year its not really worth doing it at CDU, bcos you can do the conversion course thru RMIT or Latrobe in 2 years.... let me know what info youve seen.. thanks!

Hi Jules
If you have an email address that i can msg you on I can send you the info I have. The CDU website only had the info for last year. Cert IV get the same credit as Diploma. The whole course is 240 credit points over 3 years. I am quite sure we get 80 credit points, so would need to complete a total of 160 credit points. Unless you do a specialty and then you have to do 2 other units i think. If you want i have the list of units for the course and also the exempt units for registered certIV or diploma nurses. Hospital trained Div2's also get credited about 40 CP I think. The units have chaged quite a bit from 2010 to 2011. Hope that has been more helpful than it is confusing.
